ballot box voting

Corporations have taken over our country. They have the power to buy and sell elected officials, and they do so with impunity. Their fundamental goal is the pursuit of profit. Everything else is secondary. We need to send to Congress people who will roll back corporate power and take back our country for the people. It all starts with the way we elect Congress:

  • Stop gerrymandering and mandate the establishment of non-partisan redistricting commissions.

  • End the electoral college: Presidents should be elected by the people. One person, one vote.

  • Amend the Constitution to declare that corporations are not people & money is not speech.

  • Rollback restrictions on voting rights (including imposing federal laws against discriminatory voter ID rules). We should be making voting easier, not harder.

  • Explore creative ways to increase public participation in the legislative process.

  • Reinstate Net Neutrality rules and treat the internet as any other public utility.

  • Assert a much more active role in the regulation of nanotechnology, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence, along with any other future form of technology with the potential for devastating consequences for life on earth.

  • Impose stricter prohibitions on former government employees (including members of Congress), becoming corporate lobbyists.

  • Hold Wall Street and multinational corporations accountable for crimes against society.

  • Stop corporate welfare.
